Job Description
A Stock Helper assists in the organization and management of inventory within a warehouse or retail setting. They support stock control procedures by receiving, storing, and distributing goods efficiently. Responsibilities may include receiving shipments, checking for accuracy, and documenting inventory levels. Stock Helpers also help maintain a clean and organized stockroom, ensuring that items are properly labeled and stored according to established guidelines. They may assist with inventory counts, replenishing stock on shelves, and fulfilling orders as needed.
Skills
- Machine Operating:
- Proficiency in operating machinery relevant to stock handling tasks, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or conveyor belts.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate machinery to move, lift, or transport stock within the warehouse or storage facility.
- Packet Collection:
- Experience in collecting and organizing packets, boxes, or containers of stock from incoming shipments or designated storage areas.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate collection and verification of packets according to delivery notes or inventory lists.
- Stock Counting:
- Strong numerical skills and accuracy in conducting stock counts, inventory audits, and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
- Familiarity with stock counting procedures, including manual counting, barcode scanning, or use of inventory management software.
- Inventory Maintenance:
- Ability to assist in maintaining organized and efficient inventory systems, including labeling, shelving, and arranging stock items.
- Understanding of inventory management principles to ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of stock to minimize damage or loss.
- Machine Maintenance:
- Basic knowledge of machinery maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs or adjustments.
- Capability to identify and report any issues or malfunctions with machinery to prevent operational disruptions and ensure workplace safety.
